You should see your optician.
I have a white line appearing around my iris due to age, does anyone know how to cure this?
I think if you are getting on in years it is called the senility ring.No cure i'me afraid.
Reply:This is called arcus senilis, It is generally due to cholesterol deposition. If you have one it is certainly worth having your lipids checked. Unfortunately even if you cholesterol is raised and you receive treatment the appearance does not improve.
Reply:There is no cure I am afraid. This ring is caused by a build up of fats in the eye and is common as we age.
Reply:The white lines and general changes to the Iris are caused by Cholesterol deposits.
You can slow this down by changing your diet.
It is worth bringing this to the attention of your optician or GP as your liver may be releasing too much cholesterol in which case you could benefit from a change in diet and or medication.
Reply:Visit an ophthalmologist or optometrist (or your primary care physician)
