She had to be taken to the emergency room last night due to her finger nails turing bluish purple. She had an extreme asthma attack and we thoughh we were going to lose her. We finally got her to breathe on her own 3 hours later. Then we were realesed from the hospital this morning at 8:00 A.M. She also vomited ALOT while in the hospital. I couldn't even nurse her because of all of the cords in the way. What's wrong with her?
My 2 year old daughter Iris has been wheezing extremely lately.?
sounds like she has asthma.make an appointment with your regular doc and he can refer you to a specialist. my son also has asthma. stick to the hospitals directions and avoid triggers like smoke, dust, mold, pollen and large amounts of exercise until you see the specialist and find out what triggers her attacks.try to relax until then and keep in mind that a lot of kids grow out of childhood asthma. i hope your baby feels better soon.
Reply:Your daughter could die. An asthma attack is very, very, very serious. The fact her fingernails were blue means she had no oxygen...picture breathing through the smallest of straws you can find...put that in your mouth plug your nose and breathe through it. That is what it feels like to have an asthma attack.
Get your daughter to an allergist, as chances are she can be allergic to something which is causing her asthma. At the very least get her on puffers and TAKE A FAST COURSE IN ASTHMA. Your daughter's life depends on it. She needs to be on medication all the time. I can't believe you left the hospital no wiser than when you went in.
When she is lying on her back watch her breathe. If her chest heaves up and down and her stomach gets sucked in when she is breathing that is an asthma attack...don't wait for her to have another and I'm surprised they released you so soon. My daughter was in for a week when she had her first asthma attack at 3 years old.
Sign of difficulty breathing with asthma...cough...or wheeze...make sure they take their puffers daily. She will need an aerochamber or she won't get enough medicine into her lungs. Have them teach you properly.
Reply:Get her to the pediatrition and think about getting an inhalor and/or a nebulizor machine which provides a continuous flow of vaporized medicine (often albuterol) through a mask. It's a fifteen minute treatment that tends to clear up breathing very effectively.
Reply:You need to take her to a doctor to tell you what's wrong with her. People on here don't know a thing.
%26lt;3,
Reply:uncontrolled asthma...get her regular medical help and stick with the treatment program
Reply:she probably has allergies to something or maybe it was just a spell but if it happens again she might have really serious asthma
Reply:take her to a pulmonologist
Reply:She shouldn't be at home so soon. Take her back and have her tested for RSV - Respiratory S---- Virus. Also you should have inhalers for her or a Nebulizer at home. Have her checked for allergies as asthma can be an allergic reation.
Also if you're still breastfeeding - make sure she is not allergic to anything you are eating. (She's too old!).
Reply:what did they tell you was wrong with her? I find this story hard to believe since you said she couldn't breath on her own for 3 hours yet they released her the next morning....take her to her pediatrition if this is an honest question...
