A Song similar to Goo Goo Dolls "Iris"?

Like "name" and "better days" by the same band or "The world I Know" by collective soul." Disarm" by smashing pumpkins. Any songs like that please?

A Song similar to Goo Goo Dolls "Iris"?
Black Balloon by the Goo Goo Dolls. I like all the Goo Goo Dolls stuff to be Honest. Sympathy, Here is Gone, Acoustic #3, Slide by them. Wounded by Third Eye Blind is pretty good if you like these. Also try Dispatch's Two Coins. Everlong by the Foo Fighters (The Acoustic Version)
Reply:"For You I Will" by Teddy Geiger
Reply:try half alive by second hand serenade, buried a lie by senses fail. some bands to name are coldplay, matchbook romance, amber pacific, the starting line, second hand serenade.
Reply:I second Lifehouse - my fave song of theirs is "Everything"

Also, "Afterglow" by INXS

All of The Calling's stuff

"Dakota" Stereophonics (Love!!)

"On Call" Kings of Leon

Plus, you probably haven't heard of Grinspoon (an Aussie band) but there new song "Minute by Minute" is very good. And another Aussie band "Placebo" is definitely worth a listen.
Reply:Pretty much any song the Goos released AFTER Iris.

Gotta love the pressure for that next hit.
Reply:Pretty much anything Dashboard Confessional has ever written. Anything before "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" (or whatever that album title is) is just him and a guitar - very honest, very open, very heartfelt.

Some of Barenaked Ladies music is very sweet in that sense. Modest Mouse and Death Cab for Cutie have some nice songs, although Modest Mouse tends to use more electric "effecty" sounds in their softer/nicer songs than some of these other bands. "Ocean Sings Salty"(?) I think is one of their songs that I really liked. I also dug "Polar Opposites", but that's pretty off-topic - it's more of a drinking song I think. =)

I'm just getting into some of Smashing Pumpkins "other" albums... the "Pisces Iscariot" album has a few nice softer songs on it - it's a B-side collection, though, so it's a mixed bag for sure. (sorry, I don't remember the titles, I just got the album the other day... it does have them covering "Landslide", though, and that's pretty killer)

I've heard a version of "Until the Day I Die" by Story of the Year that I really liked. I've also heard a version of "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" by Brand New that I liked very much as well. Hmmm. "Reinventing Your Exit" by Underoath is pretty good, there's an acoustic version out there somewhere that's okay.

"Swing Life Away" by Rise Against (acoustic version? I don't know if there's an electric version or not) was very sweet.

I tend to like acoustic versions of punk songs, if you haven't noticed. =)

Jack Johnson is an acoustic guitar-heavy artist - if you can imagine a surfer playing laid-back semi-funky-yet-very-smoothly-melodic music, that would be Jack Johnson. "On and On" is a great album - I'd just buy the whole thing. Oh, wait, I did. =)

And of course I can't forget to mention Coheed and Cambria. Might not be what you're looking for, but they do have a few acoustic numbers, and a few acoustic versions of their songs. Hey, it works for me.

Hope some of this helped.
