The iris is composed of two smooth muscle layers, arranged radially and circularly. Which dilates the pupil?

The radial layer of smooth (involuntary muscle) that is present in the iris, behind the layer of pigment that defines the color of the eyes, when contracting, "pulls" the edge of the pupil, in an even manner outwards , dilating the pupil, that is, it makes our eyes to look intensely black in the center, because the increase of diameter of the pupil,,,,,definitely, the radial layer....

The radial smooth muscle layer (dilator pupillae) is responsible for dilating the pupil.
