If the eye sufferd a thermal burn from extreme heat how would you know if the iris was damaged?
you might need someone's help here.
in a dark room, use a pen torch/any small light source to shine towards one of your eye from about an inch away (indirectly, at an angle). observe to see if the pupil constricts (becomes smaller). swing the worch to the other eye and check for the same reaction.
it should both constrict under normal circumstance. also, the pupil should be perfectly round. oval or irregular might indicate some form of damage.
you might also want to look if there is a difference in iris colour.

If he has always had this, then it is a developmental issue, the sclera, or white part of the eye, when missing some of the white tissue, will appear brown. Not to worry! Does not need to be fixed.

Today is the day for me to ask music questions I guess! Does anyone know Iris Dement? She's kinda "folky".
But she's good. I saw her here in Madison Wiscosin and she was awesome. She has about 4-5 albums out. Check her out if you will. If you don't like one song, try another. They're all different........I'm curious about if anyone else has heard her music and what you thought of it. Thanks.

What does it mean if you have gray rings in the outer edge of your iris?
My eyes are normally green, but today I noticed the edge of the colored part is somewhat gray. I'm not taking any type of medication, but if it matters, I haven't really slept much in the past week. My friend told me it could be a copper buildup due to some disease, but he didn't really know much.

It could be arcus senilis or arcus juvenilis. In older people it is usually just a cosmetic event. In younger people it may indicate cholesterol problems. It would be a good idea to have it checked out.

I'm not sure if it can permanently be restored, but if it can I'm sure it would be an expensive surgery. The other option would be colored contact lenses. They can enhance or even change your normal eye color. Some brands are: FreshLook ColorBlends and Acuvue 2 Colours.

How do you get larger eyes without makeup? And is it possible to get bigger iris through plastic surgery?
I want to have large natural looking eyes, without doing any make-up. I am willing to pay for any surgery cost... but is it safe?

Why dont you just use make - up? Why would you want to go under the knife for bigger eyes?
All you have to do is use black eyeliner on top of youe eyelid - never on the bottom lid because that will mkae your eye look smaller and apply brown/black mascara on your top and bottom lashes - apply as much as you'd like - I perfer lots and lots of coats of mascara but I can still make it look natural by apply the mascara carefully and getting rid of the CLUMPS - just do this, your eye will come out gorgeous! Mascara can do WONDERS to your eyes, promise me that you'll try this BEFORE you consider getting surgery - because I know you'll like it. Theres nothing wrong with wearing some eye make-up as long as you don't over do it - you'll still look natural and great.

Good question. Brown eyes have brown pigment, of course. Blue eyes have little or no pigment. It's an evolution thing. People who's ancestry goes back to areas around the equator developed brown pigment to help reduce the more direct and brighter sunlight that can damage eyes. Northern Europeans, who evolved higher up on the planet, where the sunlight is less intense, had no need for the adaptation.

Therefore, you will notice that albinos, who have a COMPLETE absence of melanin, not only have really pale skin, there is no coloring in their iris, so the iris becomes pink because that's the color of the muscle. Conversely, someone of african descent commonly has very dark eyes, due to the levels of melanin affecting their skin and eyes. This is why certain eye colors are associated with certain ethnicities. (Sorry to say, but the answerer above me is wrong about brown pigment. Brown eyes just have a lot more melanin. There is no brown, blue, or green pigment)
As for which colors I find pleasing, I find it has more to do with how much light reflects (bright, dark eyes) out of their eyes than the actual color, or in other words, how much of the color you can see.

You need to take outside or in a Frontroom with Large Picture Windows (no Drapes or Shades) Then your camera will decide it is light enough and will not flash. If your camera still flashes you can take a small piece of tissue and place over the flash giving it a very soft flash but you still we need plenty of light in the room to make sure her blue eyes show.
Here are some of my examples that I take at our kennel in the front of the building with lots of windows.

Your eye color ever change?Why lighter and lighter than my childhood dark brown iris?
I think it's too much TV watching and computer screen staring and contact lens wearing, but my eyes used to be DARK brown colored almost black. Throughout puberty, it lightened. It now lightened to nearly hazel/yellowish hue but specks of dark still can be observed if stared in the right angle lines etc. the lighter hue is in the inner part with the dark circle/ring around it. totally diff from pics when i had as a young boy. seem to lose my childhood's innocent bright-eyed look but with a more devilish side too it now..., , especially bloodshot at times and permanent purplish blood vessels very noticeable when peeling the eyelids to show more whites of the eye. even when i sleep a lot the red only subsides a bit, I wish i had my childhood's pure midnight ~blackish eyecolor back when it was much more uniform. At this rate, they'll be golden/yellow/amber within 5-10s years, already light to medium brown.

Reply:if you eyesight hasn't worsened, it's prob due to genetics. my daughter, who is a heinz 57 ( mixed with more than 2 races ), has changed eye color a number of times. at birth her eyes were dark blue -- navy, then they were hazel ( green/brown ), and now for the last 6 years they have been honey brown.
