My eye colors are gradually changing. Why lighter than my childhood dark brown iris?

I think it's too much TV watching and computer screen staring and contact lens wearing, but my eyes used to be dark brown colored. Throughout puberty, it lightened. It now lightened to nearly hazel/yellowish hue but specks of dark still can be observed if stared in the right angle lines etc. the lighter hue is in the inner part with the dark circle/ring around it. totally diff from pics when i had as a young boy. seem to lose my childhood's innocent bright-eyed look but with a more devilish side too it now..., , especially bloodshot at times and permanent purplish blood vessels very noticeable when peeling the eyelids to show more whites of the eye. even when i sleep a lot the red only subsides a bit, I wish i had my childhood's pure midnight ~blackish eyecolor back when it was much more uniform. At this rate, they'll be golden/yellow/amber within 5-10s years, already light to medium brown.

My eyes have changed color too. When I was little I had dark brown eyes and now they are a bright green.

I don't think it has anything to do with what you're saying..Its just genetics
Reply:That happens to a lot of people. I had white-blonde hair and really dark eyes when I was born, but my hair got darker and my eyes turned green over the years. My mom's eyes used to be more of a hazel than green, but her eyes have lost a lot of the brown and look mostly green now.
Reply:I doubt it's to do with TV watching, computer screen staring, and contact lens wearing! Lots of people's eye colours change throughout their lives (for some reason), so I've read.

I'm sorry for you that you lost your preferred eye colour, though. :(
Reply:This is normal for some people
Reply:This is normal for some people, so don't worry! It has to do with genetics. For example, I know someone who had blue eyes when they were born but it eventually changed to a lightish brown even before they were three years old! Sound odd? Maybe, but it's normal. The kid had a sibling who had the same thing happen and another who just had light brown eyes from the beginning. I don't think it will get to the point where it turns into a yellowish amber for you; it should stop at just being hazel or light brown. But, if you're that concerned, then just see a specialist.
Reply:i highly doubt that its got anything to do with tv or anything like that. it happens to some people. i used to have blue eyes when i was little and when i was 7 or 8 years old, they changed to a mixed colour- i now have green in the middle and brown on the outside with like a really slight dark blue on the outer edge... i think its just a natural thing. i also used to have white blonde hair and at that same aged, it turk almost dark brown. i wouldnt worry. sometimes they seem lighter at some stagers then darker, then more green, then more brown. i have no idea why. some of my friends have it too
