Is there any way to keep moles/voles from eating newly planted dutch iris bulbs?? Does anything repel them??

There's only one thing that works. I plant my bulbs in wire mesh. I dig a hole and then line it with the mesh and let it stick up above the ground about an inch. I buy the mesh they sell to cover gutter from leaves. They work really well. Moles do not eat plants only worms and grubs. Voles are your problem. You'll never kill them and even catch them. I've been trying for twenty years now. The only way to get rid of both is to get a cat.

they do not like kitty litter (used) or Cayenne peppers- they will eat and die from juicy fruit gum and get moving(if you know what i mean) from ex-lax- just dump any one of these things down a tunnel and wait ( you May also try raised boxes for your plants with a mesh wire under the soil to keep em off.)
Reply:Moles hates sound!! So perhaps playing them some CD....

I know it does sound ridiculous and neighbors will raise their eyebrows, but it is worth trying. It did work in my grandfathers garden .
Reply:There is a dust you can put on them, or plant them in chicken wire and fill with dirt.
