Iris. I'm sure about it.

Who in Greek mythology is the goddess of the rainbow?· Diana· Zeus· Iris?
Iris.. cuz thats my name In Greek mythology, Iris was the daughter of Thaumas and the ocean nymph Electra and one of the Oceanids (according to Hesiod), the personification of the rainbow and messenger of the gods. As the rainbow unites Earth and heaven, Iris was the messenger of the gods to men; in this capacity she was mentioned frequently in the Iliad, but never in the Odyssey, where Hermes takes her place. She is married to Zephyrus, god of the west wind.

Iris is represented as a youthful virgin, with wings of gold, who hurries with the swiftness of the wind from one end of the world to the other, into the depths of the sea and the underworld. She is especially the messenger of Hera, and is associated with Hermes, whose caduceus or staff she often holds. By command of Zeus she carries a ewer of water from the Styx, with which she puts to sleep all who perjure themselves. Her attributes are the caduceus and a vase. She is also represented as supplying the clouds with the water needed to deluge the world. Iris is the personal messenger of Hera, queen of the gods and is Hera's go-between from Mount Olympus to the mortal world.

The word iridescence is derived in part from the name of this goddess.

Reply:it varies.. Iris is the goddess of the rainbow and messenger of zeus and hera... zeus made the rainbow so the rainbow is a thing attributed to him, while diana, the goddess of the moon and nature is mentioned as having the rainbow as one of her most treasured things.
Reply:Iris.

"Iris is goddess of the rainbow and a messenger of the gods. She is often carrying messages for Hera. She was the daughter of Thaumas and Electra, one of the Oceanids and not the daughter of Agamemnon. Her sisters were the fearful harpies. She had no cult following and no temples dedicated to her. In some legends she is the mother of Eros by Sephyrus."
Reply:Diana
Reply:IRIS is Goddess of the Rainbow.

Traveling with the speed of the wind, she could go from one end of the earth to the other, and to the bottom of the sea or to the depths of the underworld.
Reply:All wrong.

It's either Apollo or Hermes.

Both of 'em looked like fruits in the Hercules series.

And hey.. Apollo is God of the Sun.. meaning.. *Gasp* his light makes that Rainbow possible.
Reply:if u r gonna make me answer i would say DIANA
Reply:IRIS: Goddess of Rainbows. The daughter of THAUMAS and ELECTRA, she's sadly deficient in followers.

One day over the rainbow she used to bring HERA's messages to mankind, but now spends most of her time stuck on Greek vases waiting to be noticed as bypassers gabble into their cell phones.

Once her courier service for HERA and ZEUS was second to none. Not even HERMES. She never fluffed her lines, muffled her messages or got her wings in a flap however fast she flew. She never slept and was always in constant attendance waiting to take the latest 'Tell-a-Gram' over the Rainbow.

If, as reported, she had had an affair with or married ZEPHYRUS, she must have done it on the wing; and if she was the mother of EROS as some claim, it is not surprising he was born with wings and delivered messages of his own by arrow.
