I need to know the definitions for these greek mythology words. ORACLE DIKE, IRIS, VULCANIZATION, VESTAL,?
oracle-a person who delivers authoritative, wise, or highly regarded and influential pronouncements.

dike-an embankment for controlling or holding back the waters of the sea or a river.

-sorry couldnt find the definition of that phrase-

iris-a messenger of the gods, regarded as the goddess of the rainbow.

vulcanization-to treat (rubber) with sulfur and heat, thereby imparting strength, greater elasticity, durability.

vestal-

1. of or pertaining to the goddess Vesta.

2. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of a vestal virgin; chaste; pure. *?*?*?*

3. a chaste unmarried woman; virgin.

4. a nun.

thx for the 2 points!!?
Reply:ok oracle dike= lesbian that wont shut up, iris = part of your eye, vulcanization= words said out loud, vestal= misspelling of testicle
Reply:Won't answer them all, but Vulcanization comes from the Greek god Vulcan, who (if I remember correctly) was a blacksmith or something like that. Anyways, thats where vulcanize (as in rubber) comes from. Sorry details sketchy.
Reply:thank you guys!
