I just cut my iris stalks down to a few inches am I too early?

Iris, unlike daffodils. crocus, narcissus, can be cut after they bloom. You do not cut them to the ground but kind of give them a diagonal cut across the fan of the leaves. Cut them about 5 to 6 inches above the ground. I am glad that this can be done as I have struggled a long time to figure out how to disguise floppy leaves from tulips, daffodils, etc that must be left alone and not cut if you want them to rebloom.

Reply:No they will be fine. You may see some growth before dormancy, but it should hurt them at all.

Good Luck
