Well it got it's name from the goddess Iris (I don't know what culture) she was the goddess of the rainbow. Irises come in every color. They can grow up to 6 feet tall. They are a bulbous plant also. Oh and they are the state flower of Tennesse.
I need information about iris the plant.?

Reply:Iris are great---to make them bloom and be beautiful you need to just put them in some decent soil--if you plant them they will not bloom---they need sun to burn them and planting them gives them no sun--do not put soil on top of them or they just produce a spike and no blossom. :0)
