I am doing a science fair project and realized that the amount of pigment in the iris can affect eyesight. I was wondering if any opthomologist out there knows!!
What is the amount of pigment in the iris for each eye color?
brown - large amount of melanin
hazel - moderate melanin and Rayleigh scattering
amber - lipochrome pigment
blue - low, such as eumelanin
green - moderate melanin
grey - least amount
