Why iris recognition is not practically implemented still?

The technology is very specialized (police, military, government), and very expensive.

There are other Biometric technologies that are more acceptable to most users, other than police, military and government, like "Finger Print" readers for example, that are cheaper, but not as reliable. Some of these systems can be tricked using "Gummy Bears"!

That will only change when "Iris Scanning" is proven to be more reliable AND much less expensive (Mass Production?) than other options OR our phobia level rises drastically.

Why iris recognition is not practically implemented still?
do you mean where they have a lazer to look at your eye and read it's "fingerprint"?

well do you think it's cheap to use them?

do you know how big they are?

have you noticed how uncomfortable they look?

just a few reasons why they may not use retina scanning
Reply:the cost of getting people scanning and the cost of making the software/storage and making the system secure.
