Do i need to trim the greenery of the iris once it is done blooming?

Cut off the bloom stalks, too, once they're exhausted--right after blooming--but wait to cut the leaves until they start to turn brown in the fall. When some people cut them, they leave them in a fan shape about six inches long. Sometimes it depends on the type of iris.

Wait for one month after blooming then cut back to fan shape. New bulbs will form during this one month period.
Reply:No. Let it die back...it's good for the next years bloom.
Reply:If it is planted in a good place like not in full sun it will usually stay a pretty shade of green but if it starts turning light green and yellow then I would trim it down.
Reply:I cut back the flowers but leave the leaves until fall they actually look nice
