I've tryed cheyenne pepper, human hair, and some stuff from lowes.
How do I keep squirrels out of my iris bulbs, without using a shotgun on them.?
2006 has seen a population explosion of squirrels. They are rats with bushy tails... not pets. And they destroy bulbs like candy. I feel for you.
The ONLY thing that will work is called "hardware cloth". None of the other tricks and products work... TRUST ME!!
For EVERYTHING you could possibly ever want to know about Squirrels, please check out this link. (And share it with your friends and neighbors)

Reply:They don't like moth balls..spread some around.
Reply:try some tomato cages around your bulbs..or else try putting some stakes up and attaching a ribbon so it flutters in the breeze %26lt; the movement startles them%26gt;

Reply:Try using raised chicken wire over the bulbs.
Reply:Use a few dozen mouse traps, they won't hurt the squirrels, but it will scare the daylights out of them and they'll stay away, it can be a little bit of a pain, you have to reset them everyday. It works great on cats messing in your garden also.
Reply:Simple; just put up a sign saying squirrel hunting season or play a good tune and lead all the squirrels to the Bronx, NY, lots of squirrels looking for mates there.
